Chapter 2.6

"Morticia? Zarif? What are you doing here?" Jeena looked from her best friend to the new boy, both of whom were looking at each other. What, in the world is going ON?

For a moment none of the two responded…until Jeena shook Morticia out of her trance.

"Huh?" Morticia was dazed.

Jeena was confused. Much more confused than what showed on her face, that's for sure. Since when did Morticia start taking walks in the park? And since when did she…well, find herself an escort at it? Also, WHY were the two STARING at each other-IN THE EYE??? Somehow, she knew what was going on. The possibility of her suspicion to be true was, however, too slim, and so she refused to believe it; even though she saw full proof of it staring at each other right in front of her. When Morticia suddenly realised where she was, with whom she was and what had just happened, she blushed. Oh, she BLUSHED alright.

Whoa!

"I…I think I should leave now" Zarif said slowly and left in a rush, his last glance set on Morticia's pink face. When Zarif was out of earshot,

which was pretty fast as he evidently was a pretty fast runner, Jeena almost screamed.

"WHAT IN THE WORLD WERE YOU DOING IN THE PARK WITH ZARIF HUSSAIN???"

Morticia did not reply immediately.

Weird thing number 1: I find Moira Seraphim in Nehru Park.

Weird thing number 2: With the new kid at school.

Weird thing number 3: Blushing.

Weird thing number 4: With her neck bent.

Weird thing number 5: She is not speaking. SHE IS NOT SPEAKING!!!

Jeena started breathing loudly and pretending to calm herself down with deep breathing. She kept her hand on Morticia's shoulder and beckoned her to walk with her. Then she said, as calmly as she could "Okay, so now tell me clearly and slowly what happened and what you were doing in the park. And then what you were doing with Zarif."

She did not reply again, but walked along with Jeena.

"You just walked into him right?" she said, suddenly realising that there could have hardly been a reason for her to freak like that. Probably it was by some kind of coincidence. After all, she herself had met Morticia right now by coincidence. Probably everyone just decided to take a walk in the park all at the same time. Yes, it had to be that. What else could it be? "He said that he loved me."
